14 - Tortilla chips or fresh vegetable sticks for dipping

# How-To Steps:

01 - Cut avocados in half lengthwise, remove pits, and scoop flesh into a mixing bowl. Pour lime juice immediately over avocado to prevent browning.
02 - Add diced red onion, minced jalapeño, chopped cilantro, kosher salt, and black pepper to the bowl. Mash with a fork or potato masher until creamy but maintaining some texture for chunky consistency. Taste and adjust seasoning as desired.
03 - In a separate bowl, combine diced tomatoes, red onion, jalapeño, cilantro, lime juice, and salt. Stir gently to incorporate evenly without crushing tomatoes.
04 - Transfer guacamole to a shallow serving dish and spread evenly. Spoon fresh salsa mixture over the top layer. Garnish with additional cilantro sprigs if desired. Serve immediately with tortilla chips or vegetable crudité.

  • The contrast between cool creamy guacamole and bright fresh salsa keeps everyone coming back for just one more bite
  • You can prep everything in advance and assemble right before guests arrive taking all the stress out of hosting
02 -
  • Never use a food processor for guacamole. That metallic blade turns creamy avocado into a weird smooth puree that tastes nothing like the real thing.
  • Plastic wrap pressed directly onto the surface really does work if you need to make this a few hours ahead. Just press out every single air bubble.
03 -
  • Save one avocado pit and nestle it in the center of the finished guacamole. My swears by this trick to keep it green though honestly the lime juice does most of the work.
  • Add a smashed clove of garlic to the guacamole if you want extra depth. Let it sit for five minutes then fish it out before serving so nobody bites into raw garlic.
